How do I use a kimberwick bit?

I was trained in England for the point to point and the Kimberwick is used by people with Ahemmm... Bad Hands Oh yeah.. Just b/c grandma is spry doesn't mean to ride her to death. She's obviously an old push on and tolerates you.;[
