My boyfriend is a smoker but whenever i kiss him his breath doesn't smell bad at all. whys that?

ive kissed some guys before who smokes and i hated the smell. it was disgusting. my boyfriend doesn't even chew a gum after he smokes but his breath still smells good. its kinda weird actually. but why is it like that?
