I am not enticed by an all seeing sky fairy that demands obedience and love, under threat of pain and torture. When a human being behaves this way towards, say, a spouse, we have a word for that: abuser. "Love and obey me, or I will set you on fire." No, thanks. Not even a little bit enticing.
