Humans accelerate erosion we don't cause erosion?

Sure, humans usually don't cause erosion directly but greatly accelerate it, mostly by removing plants, especially trees. Once the plants are gone, their roots no longer hold the soil in place so it often erodes rapidly during rainstorms.
