Should U.S highschools require a language cl as a core cl?

Yeah, I live in Ireland and we study both Irish and English from our first year of school onwards. We also pick up an extra foreign language, or sometimes two, from the age of 11 or 12. It's great knowing different languages as it not only introduces you to new cultures but helps your mind to think logically. There's a reason the US has the worst education system in the developed world and the country needs to address it.
