Should colleges and universities take courses in safety against violence?

when I was in college, I took the freshmen seminar, where they taught you stuff about what you should know about college life like binge drinking, drugs, time management, relationships with professors (professional, not personal of course) etc... I don't remember learning anything about safety or what you should do if such a violence like mive shootings like the ones at Virginia Tech had. Seems that we're having school shootings a lot in high school and now it's occuring in universities and colleges? Shouldn't universities administrators, faculty and staff take some kind of cles in the summer to have some kind of training to help them help students prepare for things like this. We have plans already for natural disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes and in case of fire. How about something like violence like mive shootings. With security, you can consider yourself safe at college but this is beginning to be a little too much.
